‘Attempts to create sensation’: Nadda responds to Kharge’s letter to the President on the situation in Manipur | India News – Times of India

“What is shocking is how repeated attempts are being made by the Congress party to sensationalize the situation in Manipur. It seems you have forgotten that your government has not only legitimized the illegal migration of foreign militants to India, said P. Nadda assured that the government is actively addressing the situation in Manipur, with ongoing NIA investigations. The BJP party chief confirmed that the government’s priority remains to maintain law and order and restore normalcy in the state.
“The entire focus of our government has been on maintaining law and order and bringing normalcy to the state. From resources to personnel and facilities – the entire government machinery is dedicated to bringing bad peace and harmony to Manipur,” Nadda said.
This response followed Kharge’s letter to President Murmu seeking intervention in the Manipur crisis. Kharge in his letter highlighted the failure of both the state and Union governments in restoring peace for 18 months, reporting over 300 casualties and widespread displacement.
The situation in Manipur remains tense, with ongoing ethnic conflicts between the Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities, leading to numerous casualties since last year. The recent General Assembly resolution called for action against Kuki militants and a review by the AFSPA, while internet restrictions continue until November 20.
