Aussies shaken awake as ‘rare’ magnitude 5.2 earthquake series of regional cities in NSW

Aussies in North Central New South Wales have wake up by a series of early morning earthquakes with reports from tremors as far away as Queensland.
A size 5.2 earthquake The Orana region of NSW hit 2.36 hours on Saturdays, followed by a maximum of 4.1 -NaSchok only a few minutes later.
Geoscience Australia reported the first tremor Lettuce at a shallow depth of 10 km and was felt by residents in a wide area, including Nyngan, Carinda, Dubbo, Narromine, Coolah and Collarenebri.
A third earthquake of 3.6 magnitude was admitted at 5.43 hours.

Orana comprises around 25 percent of NSW and comprises 12 local government areas.
A resident in Forbes, 375 km west of Sydney, said they felt their house shaking.

Darryl Stokes said he even felt the earthquake in Queensland.
“Ramen vibrated here at the Gold Coast,” he said.
No significant damage or injuries were reported, but local authorities said they kept an eye on the situation, because small aftershocks are still possible.
Earthquakes above a size of five occur in Australia every two years, but those events are rare in the interior of NSW.
On average, 100 earthquakes are of a size of three or more recorded in Australia every year. An earthquake that exceeds the magnitude seven takes place on average every 100 years somewhere in Australia.
The Seismology Research Center said that the quakes of the Orana region were among the strongest in the State in recent years.
