Australia is on schedule for one of the hottest winters on record, because a large part of the country enjoys mild temperatures in the run -up to the cold season.
“The seasonal transition to winter has been remarkably mild throughout Australia,” ” Sky News The meteorologist of Australia, Rob Sharpe, said Thursday.
‘There is hardly a hint of winter looming with just a few cool spells. Much of the country has seen the summer or March -like nights in recent weeks. ‘
Mr. Sharpe said that the two most recent winters in Australia had been the hottest, and the current season, which officially starts on June 1, seemed the same.
A series of cities in Victoria and TasmaniaIncluding Hobart, recorded their hottest May mornings ever on Monday and Tuesday.
The cause was warmer ocean temperatures, which strongly influence it again for days, months and seasons. March and April have seen some of the hottest ocean temperatures on record – behind only 2016 – while the previous five months were the hottest.
“All climate forecasts suggest a warmer than the normal winter for the country,” said Mr. Sharpe.
‘It is quite likely that this winter is in the top six of the hottest – with a decent opportunity to challenge the two most recent.

March and April have registered some of the hottest ocean temperatures ever – behind only 2016 – while the previous five months were the hottest were
“Of course there will be cold outbreaks, just like in the last two winters, but they will almost certainly be less frequent than in Australia from 70 years ago.”
It comes if 2025 could turn out to be the hottest year that the country has ever seen with minimum temperatures for the first four months the hottest.
All in all, the combination of highlights and lows is a bit behind the record year 2019.
But Mr Sharpe believes that as soon as the data of May has been recorded, the year to date must be the most popular.
