Australia versus South Africa Preview
Lord’s hosts what promises to be a squat game while Australia accepts South Africa on Wednesday in the final of the ICC World Test Championship on Wednesday.
Australia, the reigning champions after beating India in 2023 in the oval, enter the competition as bankruptcies, priced on 3/10 to retain their crown.
And it’s not hard to see why.
The Baggy Greens, currently the top-test side in the world, arrive with the formidable core that the title won two years ago.
Under the leadership of Pat Cummins, Australia won an impressive 3-1 series victory over India at home earlier this year and was the striking side in the WTC cycle of 2023-2025.
They won 13 of their 19 tests during that period and avoided the defeat in all their six series, and saw challenges from England, Pakistan, West -India, New Zealand, India and Sri Lanka.
As far as South Africa is concerned, this final marks their first performance in a decision championship of the world test, after he had missed in the previous cycle when he finished third.
Their path to the final was a bit different.
After signing at home with India and to suffer a 2-0 defeat to New Zealand, the Proteas found shape with victories over the West Indies, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
However, critics will indicate that South Africa has had a more favorable schedule – in particular the avoidance of both Australia and England on their way to the final.
There is little to draw on in terms of recent encounters from head-to-head. Their last meeting came in January 2023, when Australia claimed a convincing 2-0 home series.

South Africa Preview Gambling tips and predictions
Steve Smith to score a century – 3/1 with Bet365
The former Australian leader has not played since March, but is too closely to go while the Baggy Greens are watching to defend their world test championship title that they won in the Oval two years ago, in a match in which Smith scored a hundred in victory on India.
Smith has a fantastic record at Lord’s, with an average of 58 in the house of Cricket and is already twice on the Honors Board, after a Mammoth Double Hundred in 2015 followed by a ton during his most recent visit to the Cricket house in 2023.
Kagiso Rabada to take five wickets in the game – 4/5 with Bet365
The South African Tempo -Bowler has only played two tests at Lord’s in his career, but has a fantastic record on the ground of North Londs, and takes 13 wickets on an average of 19, without other players in both squadrons that more for the WTC finale of this week.
The 30-year-old is the leading active Wicket-Toning of the Proteas with 327 and is only three short four on the list of all time for South Africa, and does this with the best average from one of the top 14 on the list.
