AM founder Simon Kumar Ponnusamy told Confidential on Saturday that Depp probably bought the sunglasses eight years ago, with the brand rarely giving away freebies to celebrities.

“We’ve only released 75 of the frames he’s wearing because it was a limited edition, we think he bought them because we don’t really gift celebrities,” he said.

While inundated with emails from people “offering all kinds of money” trying to get their hands on a pair, Simon told Confidential they have no plans to re-release the style.
