Australians affected by the big new Donald Trump -Ban: what you need to know

Kevin Rudd has beaten Donald Trump‘S’ disturbing ‘decision to block foreign students to register at Harvard University in the midst of escalating tensions with the elite institution.

The prohibition, announced by the US President on Thursday, forces existing students to switch to other schools or to lose their legal status.

It will also affect the approximately 120 Australian students who study at Harvard, according to the University’s website.

Rudd, who is Australia’s ambassador in the US, said that he followed ‘closely developments in Harvard University’ in a post on X on Friday morning.

“I know this will be painful for the many Australian students of Harvard,” said Rudd.

‘The embassy works together with the government of the United States to obtain the details of this decision, so that Australian students can get appropriate advice.

“We are also planning to involve the administration on the impact of this decision for Australian students and their families, both on Harvard and on other campuses in the United States.”

Rudd encouraged Australians who need help to contact the Consular Emergency Center.

The move comes in the midst of escalating tensions between Ivy League University and the White House after the university refused to provide information about some foreign student visa holders.
