Avril Lavigne beamed with pride as she attended the unveiling of her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday afternoon.

The 37-year-old rocker appeared to be making the most of her time at the event, during which she posed for several photos on and around her new star.

The Complicated singer was also joined by several other figures from the music industry, including her collaborator Machine Gun Kelly, Joel Madden and her fiancé Mod Sun.

She also brought a photo that had been taken of her some years prior, which showed her wearing the same hoodie and laying on one of the stars on the Walk of Fame.

According to Metro, the hitmaker put on the sweater ‘for good luck and good vibes.’

Machine Gun Kelly then spoke about how one song in particular served as an anthem for part of his generation.

The first single from Love Sux, entitled Bite Me, was initially released to the public last November.

The album’s second single, Love It When You Hate Me, made its debut in January.

Love Sux, which consisted of 13 songs, largely saw Lavigne returning to her pop-punk roots.

The performer spoke about playing within her old genre during an interview with USA Today and stated that she was happy to return to the style.

Lavigne discussed how she was impressed when she began collaborating with Machine Gun Kelly, who is also featured on the record. 

She recalled: ‘He came in the studio with his guitar and started playing his concept for the song and I was like, “This guy writes his [stuff] and he’s really focused and serious.”‘

‘I love the album title. It’s like how a lot of people feel. Love is hard. Love is a lot of work. And sometimes it just doesn’t end well,’ she said.

Lavigne then expressed gratitude for the ongoing support of her fans and listeners.

Love Sux received much praise from critics upon its release, with many commending the singer’s return to pop-punk.

The album also fared well on the charts, and peaked at the number nine spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
