Awkward moment when Donald Trump disapproves of daughter Ivanka for Elon Musk in family portrait
An awkward moment when Donald Trump appears to snub his daughter Ivanka for Elon Musk has been captured in a new behind-the-scenes video.
On Monday, the president-elect’s granddaughter, Kai, shared one YouTube video showing what really happened on election night at Mar-a-Lago and detailing the exchange.
While Trump posed for photos with his several grandchildren, as well as son Don Jr. and ex-wife Vanessa, someone suggested it was time for a family photo.
Ivanka, dressed in a blue velvet pantsuit, began to step into the frame, as did Elon Musk and his son, X Æ A-12.
But it appears Trump didn’t want Ivanka to be in the picture — at least not at that moment — when he pointed to the X owner and said, “We need to get Elon with his boy.”

“Beautiful, perfect boy,” Trump added as Elon and his son posed with the large group
Ivanka began to awkwardly step away as Elon joined her family.

After the group took the photo, Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, were able to step into the photo with her brother Eric and his wife Lara.
Her sister, Tiffany, also posed at the end of the line next to her husband, Michael Boulos.
The family then headed out for some solo shots, as Don Jr.’s daughter Kai posed next to her grandfather in a sparkling black minidress.
Kai captured footage of the tense evening, when Trump was elected the 47th President of the United States, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris for the ticket.
And although Ivanka didn’t join her father on the campaign trail this year, she was present for the big night at Mar-a-Lago.
She stood next to her husband on stage, next to newly elected Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha.

Although she did not campaign with her father this year, Ivanka attended the 2024 Republican National Convention
And just days after Trump won the ticket, it was finally revealed why Ivanka would never return to politics.
The former shoe designer served as a senior advisor in her father’s administration.
But those days are long gone, the source said, explaining that things started to get bad for Ivanka after the Jan. 6 riot and after she was subpoenaed during the investigation into the president’s attempts to stay in power.
‘She felt like she was being asked to reveal something she knew nothing about and never wanted to be a part of [that] position again,” the source told DailyMail.com.
“Her family means the world to her and she is now focusing on motherhood and other private ventures,” they continued, adding that she is “completely happy where she is in her life.”
‘She thinks it’s perfect to hand over the reins to Lara [Trump] this time. Not her circus, not her monkeys.’
Lara, who is married to Ivanka’s brother Eric, played a bigger role in Trump’s campaign this time around, standing by his side at many rallies, including two that took place just a day before the eve of the election.
Lara is also co-chair of the Republican National Committee.

Ivanka’s stance comes as no surprise to many, however, as she said in a statement that she “no longer plans to be involved in politics” following her absence from the launch of her father’s 2022 campaign..
“I love my father very much,” she said at the time.
This time I choose to prioritize my children and the private life we create as a family. I have no intention of getting involved in politics.”
Just hours before Tuesday’s election, Ivanka avoided any political talk and instead took to Instagram to share a list of 16 lessons she’s learned since her 43rd birthday.
Some of these lessons include that family and friends “are everything,” as she urged her followers to “forgive people” and understand that “everyone is a teacher.”
She also posted photos of flowers and horses this weekend and Monday.
