‘Beetlejuice vibes’ people scream as woman shows off her budget slow-reno
A cash-savvy mom has wowed audiences with her epic ‘Beetlejuice’ home renovation on a budget.
Renovating your home can often cost you thousands of euros, but frugal mother Bea Maskery recently proved that it doesn’t have to. Her stunning glow-up is sure to inspire you.
According to Bea, the family moved into their new home at the beginning of this year and spent several months creating more character.
Although they had been working on it since January and it was a time-consuming job, the DIYers managed to keep the costs down considerably. And the result was more than worth the wait and effort.
Going the popular way DIY on a Budget Official On her Facebook page, Bea surprised her fellow members by sharing photos of their home before and after the fantastic, slow renovation.
When the handywoman first moved into the house, the rooms were fairly simple. The living room, for example, had neutral white walls, a few framed pictures on the wall, a large sofa, and a rug in the middle.
The kitchen, while clean, was still quite dull and sad, with a black tiled floor, plain white cabinets and a tiled backsplash in the same colour.
The overall aesthetic wasn’t much different in the bedroom, which featured a leather armchair, a soft gray rug, and a small desk.
With a little creativity and artistic vision, Bea managed to give the boring rooms a completely new look, which amazed Facebook users.
The once white walls were replaced with a funky black and white theme and the living room was also filled with lots of decorations and picture frames.
The ‘spooky’ makeover – perfect for the upcoming Halloween season – also involved Bea trading in the old, plain sofa for a chic, black version.
The kitchen also underwent a huge metamorphosis: the boring cabinets now shine in turquoise, a beautiful contrast with the black tiles.
According to Bea, who also has a beautiful clock hung above the stove, she stole the beautiful paint from Dunelm.
Other DIYers can try a small sample pot of the beautiful colour for just £3, or buy a 5 litre pot for £32.
The black theme continued into the bedroom, which now featured a comfortable bed with black bedding, a matching headboard and two floating shelves decorated with plants, books and other items.
