Best Guest Room Mattress of 2024
Be sure to read how we test mattresses. For a list like this, we wanted to keep a few things in mind when choosing from the hundreds of beds we tested.
Feeling
We wanted to find beds that would be comfortable for just about anyone, across the board. Some sleepers like a classic, dense memory feel, and some don’t. Some people like super responsive latex beds or even the unique feel of a Purple mattress, and some don’t. The beds we chose have more of a “secure” feel that we think anyone who sleeps on them would likely enjoy, and a guest room mattress isn’t necessarily for a specific person who wants a specific feel.
Firmness
We wanted all of the beds on this list to be around medium on the firmness scale because they generally work well, or at least OK, for all sleeping positions. Whether your guest sleeps on their back, stomach, side, or a combination, none of these beds should leave them in pain.
Prices
Buying yourself a mattress that you (hopefully) sleep on for eight hours a day can be a big investment, so buying a mattress for guests to sleep on doesn’t have to cost a lot. That’s why we tried to select beds that were more affordable than the average online mattress.
Sustainability
We can’t sleep on a mattress every day for years, so it’s hard to say exactly how long a bed will last. We can get an idea of how long we think a bed will last based on various factors, such as construction. The average lifespan of a mattress is seven to ten years. For this list, durability was less important, since a guest bed is probably not slept on every night.
