Apple’s iPad lineup has really changed over the past few years, and the iPad Air is one of the best options for those looking for a combination of performance and portability. The latest model, the 2024 iPad Air, is affordable yet still more powerful than the previous generation thanks to the addition of a new chip among other improvements. It starts at $599, significantly lower than the iPad Pro it closely resembles. Throw in some additional discounts we’ve scoured from around the web, and that’s an incredible value considering what this tablet can do.
The M2 iPad Air is available as an all-new 13-inch model alongside the 11-inch variant. For most people, it’s a viable alternative to the more expensive iPad Pro, especially if you can find one on sale. The new iPad Air has plenty to get buyers excited about, including a fast chip and a gorgeous display.
These iPad Airs feature the older Liquid Retina tech, but unlike the mini LED of previous Pros or the tandem OLED of the latest M4 iPad Pro, they’re still not exactly something to be overlooked.

How much does the iPad Air cost?
Apple’s latest iPad Air, the 11-inch model, features landscape speakers with spatial audio for an immersive listening experience, and the 13-inch model offers extra bass to amplify the audio impact. These tablets may have the slightly older M2 chip, but they still promise to pack a serious punch. The base 11-inch model with 128GB of storage starts at just $599 , or you can upgrade to the 256GB model for $100 more. 512GB and 1TB models are also available for $899 and $1,099, respectively.
The iPad Air isn’t the only new option in town. If you’re looking for an Apple tablet that’s a little more advanced and robust, the latest iPad Pro might just be the right choice for you. These new Pro models promise to impress, with upgrades to the FaceTime camera placement and a thinner new design that makes the device more portable. If you opt for the Pro over the Air, you’ll be passing up the M3 chip in no time, as Apple has equipped the latest iPad Pro with the powerful M4 chip, which is capable of handling its brand new Ultra Retina XDR OLED displays (which punch out 1,600 nits of brightness in HDR) and much more. These upgrades do come at a price, with the base model starting at $999. You can pre-order the iPad Pro now.
We also expect to see a lot of iPad deals on older models soon, which could be a better option for budget buyers who don’t mind a previous-generation model.
