‘Best place ever’: Tourists are going crazy over this fairytale village in Croatia, where guests sleep in tiny houses shaped like a castle, a mushroom and a pumpkin

Tourists who want to go on holiday to Croatia can make their trip extra enchanting by booking a stay in a small house in the shape of a pumpkin, a mushroom or a miniature castle.

The three Airbnb properties, offered by hosts Helena and Florijan, are located in the fairytale village of Krka, near the Krka National Park. One is described as “the cutest place ever” and the other as “really special.”

An overnight stay in the unique houses includes free internet, air conditioning, heating, parking, barbecues and use of the surrounding garden and orchard.

The ‘fairytale castle‘ has two bedrooms, both with a double bed, as well as a bathroom, kitchen and many amenities.

Each stay also includes a television, hairdryer, kettle, stove, cleaning products, hot water, mosquito nets, board games, a fireplace, freezer and washing machine.

The small house, which looks like a small castle, also has plenty of outdoor space, where guests will find a table with chairs, a sofa, a fire pit, an outdoor kitchen, a barbecue and sun loungers.

Holidaymaker Marcus, from Berlin, said: ‘Helena and Florijan have created a very nice, loving place. We felt very comfortable there. The outdoor kitchen and the great houses make the place very special. Highly recommended!’

While Ollie, from the UK, added: ‘It’s a lovely place to stay. The kids loved the lovely cottage and the play park!’

It has a bedroom with sleeping space for four people, a kitchen, a toilet and a bathroom with shower.

Inside you will also find a television, an iron and a hairdryer. However, the advert states that the pumpkin-shaped rental cottage does not have hot water or a washing machine.

Outside the grounds you can set up a table and chairs on the lawn so you can eat in the sun. There is also a fire pit, a barbecue and an outdoor kitchen.

‘For such a small space, everything was there and even with two people you rarely had the feeling that we were bumping into each other.’

“The house was very cozy and comfortable. We arrived with some snacks, enjoyed an evening reading on the big bed and slept wonderfully (very quiet and isolated). We went to Krka National Park the next morning.”

The houses are located in the village of Rupe, an hour and 12 minutes drive from the popular Split and a three and a half hour drive from Dubrovnik.

Inside you will also find a bathroom and kitchen, a television, a coffee maker, crockery and cutlery, hot water, toiletries, an iron, a cot or travel cot, a baby bath, a high chair, window security and children’s toys and books.

Guests can enjoy views of the garden and vineyard, and there is also a private terrace.
