Best PlayStation Plus deals: get standard membership with 20% discount
Gaming subscriptions can be a great deal if you’re someone who doesn’t buy games all that often and doesn’t mind the whole deal feeling a little potluck-ish. PlayStation Plus, the PlayStation 5 subscription service, has multiple tiers that offer different perks, but even the basic level gets you a few new games every month.
We’ve broken down the deals currently on offer below. We’ll also explain how PS Plus subscriptions work and the best ways to sign up for less where possible. For more savings, check out our round-up of the best deals on PlayStation games, gear and accessories.

CDKeys is currently running a deal that gives you 20% off a standard 3-month subscription. That’s still more expensive than simply going for the 12-month option, but it’s a good stopgap if you’re unsure about the service or simply can’t justify the 12-month commitment right now.
There are no direct discounts on PlayStation Plus at the moment, but the service itself could be a good deal for those looking to play older games added to the service through the Free Games section, or for those looking to upgrade to a higher tier for even more options.
What has changed?
Prior to the 2023 refresh, PlayStation offered two different PS Plus subscription services: a $10-per-month service, similar to Xbox Game Pass, that allowed players to play games online and compete in multiplayer matches, and PlayStation Now, a $10-per-month cloud gaming service that gave players access to a massive library of classic titles from the PS2, PS3, and PS4. The new version of PS Plus essentially consolidates both memberships into a single service with multiple subscription tiers. There are three membership packages available, which combine different features and benefits from both previous subscription plans.
PS Plus Essential
For $10 a month, $25 for three months or $80 for the year, PlayStation Plus Essential is essentially no different to the previous PS Plus subscription. It offers the same features, including access to online play, two free games per month, cloud storage, and exclusive discounts on PlayStation Store. If you had a PS Plus membership before the renewal went live, it will automatically be converted to an Essential membership.
PS Plus Extra
For $15 a month, $40 for three months or $135 for the year, a mid-range PlayStation Plus Extra subscription is somewhat similar to the Game Pass Ultimate membership offered to Xbox users. It includes all the benefits and features of an Essential membership, but also gives you access to a catalog of up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games. The selection includes many hit titles such as God of War, Horizon, Uncharted, Demon’s Souls, Kingdom Hearts, Doom, Red Dead Redemption, Ratchet & Clank, Spider-Man, Final Fantasy and many more.
PS Plus Premium
a PlayStation Plus Premium membership is the highest tier available, costing $18 per month, $50 for three months, or $160 for a full year. On top of all the benefits of both an Essential and Extra subscription, it gives you access to a massive library of over 700 games. That includes recent PS4 and PS5 hits from the Extra subscription, but also a catalog of over 300 classics from the PS1, PS2, and PS3 eras (similar to the previous PS Now subscription). This lets you stream many of these classic titles, so you don’t have to worry about them taking up any of your valuable storage space.
You’ll also get access to timed game trials, so you can try out new games before you buy them. If you had a PS Now subscription before the renewal went live, it will automatically be converted to a PlayStation Plus Premium membership.
