Best WordPress Hosting of 2024

Some of these services don’t offer as much customer service as the best services, don’t offer as many security features, or don’t have an uptime guarantee. You can still find a service that works for you.

GreenGeeks

GreenGeeks is a green energy web hosting provider, and it makes a 300% green energy match for every hosting plan. It also works with the non-profit One tree planted to plant a tree with every hosting plan registration. If you’re new to WordPress hosting, or migrating from another service, GreenGeeks offers free WordPress installation and free site migration, so you can get started quickly. GreenGeeks offers three tiered WordPress plans, and security features include SSL certificates and DDoS protection. GreenGeeks also has an industry standard 99.9% uptime. Customer service is available 24/7 via email and chat, but phone support is only available from 6am to 9pm PT (9am to 12am ET). While chat and email support are great, it can be helpful to be able to talk through an issue or have someone walk you through how to fix something at any time.

Prices start at $3 per month.

MokkaHost

MochaHost offers competitive pricing on its four WordPress hosting plans. These plans include automated WordPress updates and security features such as an SSL certificate, automatic backups, and malware and spam monitors. MochaHost’s 99.9% uptime is the industry standard, and customer service is available 24/7 via email or chat. You can also call customer service, but you have to leave a message and wait for a call back each time. This hurts MochaHost’s rating because when I call with a problem, I want someone to help me now, not sometime in the future.

Prices start at $3.18 per month.

Hostinger

Hostinger’s pricing starts at a competitive $3 per month for managed WordPress hosting; some WordPress hosting services charge five times as much for managed WordPress hosting. It also offers free site migration if you’re switching from another hosting service. Hostinger offers three tiered WordPress hosting options, and each plan includes security features like an SSL certificate, DDoS protection, and web application firewalls, as well as a 99.9% uptime guarantee. Customer support is available 24/7 via email or chat, but the lack of phone support hurts Hostinger’s rating.

Prices start at $3 per month.

WebhostingPad

WebHostingPad’s three WordPress plans offer unlimited hosting space, bandwidth, and business email accounts. Plans come with a one-click WordPress installer. It offers 99.9% uptime, security features like an SSL certificate, and malware scanning and removal. Customer service is available 24/7 via chat or email, and phone support is available Monday through Friday from 6am to 8pm PT (9am to 11pm ET). If you have a problem with your site over the weekend, you can’t call their support, and their security features aren’t as robust as some other services.

Prices start at $3 per month.

HostGator

HostGator offers three tiered WordPress hosting plans that come with WordPress pre-installed and a 99.9% uptime guarantee, SSL certification for at least one year, firewall, and DDoS protection. You also get a built-in content delivery network — CDN — from Cloudflare, a tool that stores your site data in multiple locations around the world so that international users can experience faster load times.

Customers theoretically have access to 24/7 customer support via live chat, email, or phone. However, when I tested HostGator’s customer service during my HostGator review, I received no response at all via email. When I scheduled a call with the WordPress team, I received no call back at all and ended up having to resolve the issues myself. This suggests that HostGator’s customer service is inconsistent across all channels.

Bluehost

Bluehost’s WonderSuite was created to help you learn the ins and outs of WordPress. Their team of experts can help you set up your site or assist you with plugins. Bluehost has four tiered WordPress hosting plans, and security features include an SSL certificate for your first year and two-factor authentication. In addition to the Blue Flash team, you can contact customer service 24/7 via phone or chat. Bluehost’s lack of an uptime guarantee is concerning. Their uptime agreement says they resolve most issues within 15 minutes, but they don’t say how often you can expect the service to go down. If your site goes down for 15 minutes every day, that means your site will be down for more than three days in a year. The industry standard of 99.9% uptime means your site could be down for almost nine hours in a year.

Prices start at $3 per month.

Hostwinds

Hostwinds offers unlimited storage, bandwidth, and business email accounts with every WordPress plan. You can also pay for your hosting plan with BitCoin and other cryptocurrencies. It offers three tiered WordPress hosting options. Each plan includes an SSL certificate, a 99.99% uptime guarantee, and 24/7 chat, email, ticket, and phone support. Some security features, such as two-factor authenticationneed to be installed manually, but Hostwinds has a database of tutorials with step-by-step instructions. However, it is unclear how long the contracts are for the prices shown. I tried to go to checkout to see how long the contracts were, but I was asked to create an account before I could proceed. It is annoying to have to create an account before you know how long a contract is. The introductory price is also noticeably higher than others. The renewal price may not be as high as some other services, but it is hard to say without knowing how long the contracts are and they can change before your renewal time.

Prices start at $5.24 per month.

Webhostinghub

Web Hosting Hub has a 90-day money-back guarantee and a free domain name when you sign up for WordPress hosting. WordPress comes pre-installed with every plan. It offers three tiered WordPress hosting options, and each plan includes an SSL certificate and an industry-standard 99.9% uptime guarantee. Customer support is available 24/7 via phone, chat, and email. A Customer Service Center also offers a range of tutorials to help you set up your site, and you’ll also get a personal onboarding interview when you sign up. Other features that come standard with other services, such as backups, cost extra. It’s this lack of security features across all plans that hurts Web Hosting Hub’s ranking.

Prices start at $6 per month.

InMotion Hosting

InMotion Hosting offers four tiered, basic WordPress plans, with starting prices ranging from $3.19 to $10 per month. The WP Core plan includes two websites, 100GB of storage, and 10 business email addresses. All other plans remove limits on websites, data storage, and email accounts. You can also get access to cloud hosting optimized for WordPress through InMotion Hosting, an option not offered by most hosts. This service starts at $11.67 per month

All InMotion Hosting plans include an SSL certificate, web application firewalls, and protection against hacking and malware.

Unfortunately, InMotion Hosting performed poorly during our tests, with over 1 hour of downtime in one week and slow server speeds. Customer service also proved impossible to reach, despite both live chat and support ticket options being listed.
