‘Bhagwant Mann, Arvind Kejriwal directly responsible’: opposition to Sukhbir Singh Badal shooting incident | India News – Times of India
Bhartiya Janata Party leader Shehzad Poonawalla said state Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal were “directly responsible” for the incident.
“The attack on SAD leader Sukhbir Singh Badal within the premises of the Golden Temple is worrying, we condemn it. It says law and order has broken down in Punjab. Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal, the super CM of Punjab, are directly responsible. Is there a conspiracy, or is it just their failure and incompetence, that will only be clear after an impartial investigation. But if a criminal, radicalized element had arrived, anything could have happened.
‘What era is Punjab entering?’
SAD leader Daljit Singh Cheema questioned the law and order situation in the state and called for a judicial inquiry into the matter.
“This is a huge incident. What era is Punjab entering? I would like to ask the CM of Punjab, where do you want to take Punjab?” Cheema told reporters shortly after the incident.
He has called for a high-level judicial inquiry into the matter. “The attacker was arrested on the spot. I also thank the security personnel here. If they had not acted quickly… There should be a high-level judicial inquiry into the incident,” he said.
‘100% government negligence’
Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring condemned the incident and expressed dissatisfaction over the law and order situation in the state, calling it “100% negligence of the government”. He also called for the suspension of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (ACP).
“I consider the firing on Sukhbir Singh Badal as 100% negligence of the government… This shows the state of law and order in Punjab. Anyone who fires bullets should be given the strictest punishment,” he told ANI.
I condemn this in the strongest terms… ACS should be suspended and immediate action taken against him. How did this happen? Who should be held accountable? The government is waiting for someone to be killed and then they can say it was a mistake… There might be hatred against Sukhbir Badal in the minds of Sikhs… but that doesn’t mean you will shoot him,” he added he added. .
Earlier today, a man opened fire in Badal at the entrance to the Golden Temple in Amritsar. Badal was serving his sentence at the time. The attacker, identified as Narayan Singh Chaura, has been arrested.
