President Joe Biden joked with reporters on Thanksgiving Day when the 80-year-old president was asked when he would complete his annual physical exam.

“Do you think I need it?” asked the president. “Part of my physical examination has already been done and I will get it before the end of the year,” he replied at the time.

Biden made history on Sunday by becoming the first US president to turn 80 years old.

The family celebrated with a birthday brunch hosted by First Lady Jill Biden, while the extended Biden clan gathered in Washington to celebrate granddaughter Naomi’s wedding at the White House.

They now spend Thanksgiving in Nantucket – a place where the President and First Lady have come regularly for the holiday since 1975.

“Do you think I need it?” President Joe Biden said when asked when he would complete his annual physical activity — after turning 80 last week. “Part of my physical examination has already been done and I will get it before the end of the year,” he replied at the time

Biden walked up to reporters Thursday morning and answered some questions during a stop at the Nantucket Fire Department.

The President and First Lady brought two pumpkin pies to the aid workers.

They also brought along their grandson, baby Beau Biden, the son of Hunter and his second wife Melissa Cohen.

The firefighters presented the two-year-old with a toddler-sized plastic fire hat.

The president, first lady, son Hunter and his family and daughter Ashley spend Thanksgiving together on Nantucket, where one of the talking points will be whether or not Biden should run for the White House again.

Biden has said his “intention” is to run again.

The president ignored a question from DailyMail.com Thursday at the firehouse about whether talks had taken place.

If the president wins and wins again in 2024, he would be 86 at the end of his second term.

So the president is in good health and has an active lifestyle. That’s from the doctor — he shared that with me,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Tuesday when asked about Biden’s health following the milestone birthday.

“He will undergo a physical examination in the coming months and the results will be released in the same manner as last year,” she said.

Biden’s doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, issued a letter last year on November 19 to update the American people on the President’s health.

But unlike former President Donald Trump’s two White House doctors — who briefed the press on his physical and external Walter Reed when he had COVID-19 — O’Connor has never answered reporters’ questions.

When the president contracted COVID-19 in July and had to self-isolate, O’Connor sent letters about the president’s progress, rather than appearing in the White House briefing room – much to chagrin from some journalists.
