Billy Ray and Firerose Cyrus’ marriage is officially over, three months after the country singer filed for divorce from his Australian wife of less than a year, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
And after an increasingly bitter and public split that saw both accuse each other of verbal and emotional abuse, court documents signed Monday and obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com reveal Firerose walked away with $0.
But according to a source, she’s fine with that. “She wouldn’t settle for anything just to be done with him and get away from the situation,” the insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.
Most divorce settlements state that both parties leave the short marriage with the content they originally brought into it.

However, the terms of the divorce settlement reveal that Billy Ray agreed to relinquish any claims to credits or royalties on songs the couple wrote or published together, before and during their union.
Billy Ray’s May 22, 2024, divorce filing came just days before Firerose, 37, was set to undergo a double mastectomy due to her BRCA gene diagnosis, which means she has an increased risk of developing certain types of cancer.
During the intensifying divorce, Billy Ray appeared to cast doubt on the veracity of this claim by requesting her medical records.
She has now made a new appointment for her operation.
A source said on Monday: ‘If this went to court, Firerose and her team would have provided a significant amount of evidence to show that he fabricated a story to benefit his image.
“There was no question that she would have gotten the divorce, but it was much more important to her that this ongoing smear campaign and emotional turmoil end so she could close this chapter and recover from her surgery in peace.”
Billy Ray saw things differently, claiming that Firerose only married him to get the last name Cyrus. He said she changed her name from Hodges—her first husband’s last name—a few weeks ago.
“I’m just so relieved,” Billy Ray said in a statement to DailyMail.com.
“This is absolutely the most insane scam I have ever heard of,” he added. “Let alone being in the middle of it and actually being targeted by the scam.
“It’s a shame it happened this way,” he said. “It wasn’t just a web of lies that put me in physical danger, it was a matter of the heart.”
“Love is blind, that’s for sure.”
Last month, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed shocking audio of Billy Ray being heard mocking and ridiculing the Australian singer, whom he married in October 2023.
In a tirade full of abuse, which often made listening difficult, the toxicity of the relationship between the two was made clear.
During the confrontation, which likely arose because the 62-year-old singer was so angry that he had to appear on stage late for a show, he warned Firerose: “If you would have just left it alone, I’m going to be really pissed off right now and I’m going to show you once again that you’re not going to listen.
“I don’t know who you think you are, but you’re not listening… this ain’t about nothing, this is about you being a selfish, f**king b***h.”

One of them is superstar daughter Miley, who Billy Ray only calls “the devil.”
In another audio recording heard by DailyMail.com, Billy Ray bizarrely speaks of himself in the third person before turning to his daughter, Miley, and making the shocking statement: “Everyone knows the devil’s a slut.”
He then took aim at Miley’s mother, Tish, to whom he has been married for 30 years and the mother of three of his biological children – Miley, 31, Braison, 30, and Noah, 24 – whom he never addresses by name, instead calling “s**t.”
Billy Ray has a son from a previous relationship and adopted Tish’s two eldest children, Brandi, 37, and Trace, 35, when they married.

The bitter split came after a shocking audio recording surfaced showing Billy Ray ridiculing and belittling his now-ex-wife Firerose, 37, and disparaging his own daughter Miley.
He later admitted to uttering the insults captured on audio in an Instagram post: ‘I was at my wits’ end’
He compared her to Lindsay Lohan’s mother, Dina, 61, and texted: “She makes Deanna [sic] Lohan looks like Mother Teresa.
A day after his tirade and text messages came to light, Billy Ray posted a message on Instagram. He made no attempt to deny the truth of it.
Instead, he doubled down on his words and said, “Yes, I was at my wits’ end. As the day went on, I began to realize that something was wrong. And that was before I knew they were [Firerose] was a fraud.’
He then made a series of claims about his then-wife.
“I just knew something wasn’t right. That was before I knew she was David Hodges’ ex-wife. That was before I knew her parents’ last name. I had no idea she had been arrested for a felony burglary.
“I saw with my own eyes that everything I thought I knew about her was a lie. She tried to take over my career, my life, and abuse the Cyrus name for her own gain.”

Billy Ray’s marriage to Firerose, which came just four months after Tish filed for divorce, reportedly put a strain on his relationship with Miley.
The former child star, who grew up on Disney Channel with her father, ignored Billy Ray in her acceptance speech at the Grammy Awards in February.
Billy Ray was still married to Tish when he first met Firerose in 2010. The Sydney-born musician was just 22 and Billy Ray was 48.
The two became friends, but nothing happened romantically until Billy Ray contacted Firerose ten years later and asked her to duet with him on a version of Tanya Tucker’s “Delta Dawn.”
He was still married to Tish at the time, but told Firerose they were “soulmates” and promised her a romance for eternity.
Instead, just seven months after their October 2023 wedding, with those words still ringing hollow in her ears, Billy Ray filed for divorce today, a brutal split sealed with the twist of a judge’s pen.
