‘BJP only indulges in loot’: Kharge blasts PM’s broken promises at Jharkhand rally, labels Modi as ‘jhootho ke sardar’ | India News – Times of India
Kharge calls Modi ‘chief of liars’ and slams BJP’s ‘loot agenda’ in Jharkhand.
Highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s unfulfilled promises, Kharge said, “Prime Minister Modi promised two million jobs annually, Rs 15 lakh in every bank account, bringing back black money and doubling farmers’ income. None of these promises were fulfilled.”
He also accused the BJP of copying Congress’ welfare schemes, citing the example of Karnataka’s ‘Bhagya Lakshmi’ scheme, which provides Rs 2,000 to women. “Modi ji is replicating our plans everywhere because they don’t have their own roadmap,” Kharge said.
Jharkhand’s rich resources are at stake
Kharge alleged that the BJP’s interest in Jharkhand is mainly driven by the desire to exploit its rich mineral resources. “The BJP is eyeing Jharkhand’s ‘black gold’ (coal) and trying to plunder its mineral resources. Their intention is not the good of the people, but to serve the interests of a few wealthy individuals.”
Accusing the BJP of trying to dethrone the current tribal chief minister Hemant Soren, he added, “No one can dare to depose Hemant Soren. He will be the next chief minister of Jharkhand.”
Wealth inequality and governance
Kharge criticized the BJP for worsening wealth inequality, saying that 5% of the rich control 60% of the country’s wealth, while 50% of the poor own only 3%. He accused Modi of parting with Rs 16 lakh crore for the rich but failing to provide relief to the poor, farmers and Dalits.
Kharge demanded immediate approval of Rs 1.36 lakh crore in coal dues to Jharkhand, stressing that these revenues could significantly support the state’s development.
Kharge criticizes the Modi government for the concentration of power
Kharge also accused Prime Minister Modi of centralizing power within a small circle, during a recent statement on governance and constitutional rights.
Kharge noted, “Prime Minister Modi does not see the good things of the others. He sees only two big people and Amit Shah. No one can speak in the cabinet. Only Prime Minister Modi can speak, and Amit Shah will. are with him.” This comment highlighted concerns about the concentration of decision-making power within the Modi government.
In a broader reflection on India’s democratic foundations, Kharge highlighted the central role of the Congress Party in securing rights for marginalized communities. “A few people forget that the reservations that have been made, whether it is SC, ST or OBC, or the rights that have been given constitutionally – for this the credit goes to those who gave us freedom – Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Babasaheb Ambedkar,” he said.
Election countdown
With the Assembly elections scheduled for November 13 and 20, Kharge urged voters to remain vigilant against the BJP’s tactics and false promises, positioning the Congress as the true guardian of Jharkhand’s resources and well-being. The counting of votes is set for November 23.
