Black Ops 6 had Call of Duty’s “biggest ever” launch month, Activision says
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has generated the highest player engagement metrics for a Call of Duty title in the first month since launch, Activision said Monday. The publisher claimed that Black Ops 6 was “the biggest Call of Duty ever”, with more players flocking to the game in the first 30 days of launch than any other game in the series. Activision’s update came after Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said the game was the biggest Call of Duty release ever during the company’s first-quarter earnings call for fiscal 2025.

Last month, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella had said that Black Ops 6 was the biggest launch of the series, setting a record for first-day players. Sales of the game on both PlayStation and Steam also increased by more than 60 percent year-on-year. compared to last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Microsoft’s CEO had said during the company’s first-quarter earnings call.
Additionally, Black Ops 6 also set a record for launch day subscribers for an Xbox Game Pass title. The game became the first Call of Duty title to launch on Game Pass day one. However, Microsoft did not share the number of subscribers added to the service after the launch of Black Ops 6.
Analysts had estimated that the latest Call of Duty could reportedly bring in four million new subscribers to Game Pass. However, the game’s unit sales would take a hit as more players gain access to the game with an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
