You can’t pin the blame on one person, says the Telugu film industry
Writer-director Trivikram Srinivas went to the Nampally criminal court where Allu was produced after his arrest and spoke in support. Top producer Dil Raju was at Chikkadpally police station after police arrested Allu. However, he refused to talk to the media.
Actor Nani said on social media: “We are all to blame here. One person is not responsible for this. I wish that the kind of enthusiasm that the government and the media show in everything related to people from the cinema was also there for ordinary citizens. Then we can all live in a better society.”
Balakrishna, actor and MLA of Andhra Pradesh’s ruling TDP, joined the chorus for Allu and called his arrest “an act of injustice”. “We will stand with Allu Arjun at this time,” Balakrishna said.
Actor Rahul Ramakrishna called Allu’s arrest “a tactic by the state to easily blame soft targets like film stars”. “The failure of law and order is not the fault or responsibility of one man. Aren’t cinemas and theaters public spaces? Is an individual not allowed to visit there by choice? Regardless of the star’s appearance and the tragic incident, why did the police allow such a large crowd to run amok in the first place?” Ramakrishna wrote.
