Over the years there have been regularly rumors about friendships that flourished in romance in between Blue Peter Presenters.

And now it can be revealed that Cupido has been beaten again – because two of his current hosts secretly separate for a year.

Shini Muthukrishnan, 22, and Joel Mowhinney, 25, would almost have fallen for each other after she came to the show in January last year and they ‘practically living together’.

Sources say they have tried to keep their romance under wraps, but their secret was recently discovered by some of their colleagues.

One said: “Shini and Joel immediately turned it off and became great friends before something romantic happened between them.

‘They keep their work and personal life completely separate and are the perfect professionals on the set. They have been very discreet, but many people who work on the show know about their relationship outside the screen.

‘Blue Peter recently sailed some turbulent waters, so it is a very beautiful, happy news for the show that they have created this beautiful love story.

‘Shini and Joel are young, talented and totally beautiful together. So far they have kept their relationship on the low, but they could very much become the hot new pair on the celebrity circuit in the coming months, especially if Shini can do strictly this year.

It only comes a few days after it appeared that former Blue Peter Stars Helen Skelton, 41, and Gethin Jones, 47, have become close while he organizes BBC’s Morning Live.

Earlier this year, former host Peter Purves, 86, told about his romantic meeting with colleague presenter Valerie Singleton while he was married.

Earlier this month the couple was at a garden party in Buckingham Palace where they enjoyed a picnic. Mrs. Muthukrishnan posted a video while they rated the food offered, with some fans one day comparing them with Emma and Dexter of the Romcom.
