Ryosuke Nishida was pulled out of his title fight against Junto Nakatani after having had a swollen eye.
Nishida placed his IBF Bantamweight title on the line against WBA champion Nakatani in Tokyo.
But after only six rounds, the colorful hands and uppercuts of Nakatani were too much for Nishida.
Halfway through the fight, the eye of Nishida was closed to leave the doctor without a choice then pull him out.
Three-weight champion Nakatani said: “Since I was in flight weight, I wanted to unite the titles.
“Finally at Bantam weight I got my first chance and I am very happy with the result.”
Japanese United Superbantamweight King Naoya Inoue Was ringsside to view the dominance of Nakatani.
And a blockbuster between the two largest stars in the country is now being recommended.
Nakatani said, “I’m coming, so please stay in front of me.”
Inoue’s promoter Bob Arum stated earlier that the fight – eyes before May 2026 – could be as great as Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford.

Arum said: “Many people say that Nakatani is the man who could defeat Inoue. That’s why it’s such a big fight. That is a real, real fight.
“People who really know and follow those lower departments of the lower weight, they think that is such an interesting fight, if not more than Canelo and Crawford.
“And it will be the greatest fight ever in the history of Japan.”
