Breville, maker of some of the Best coffee makers We have tested here at TechRadar, has launched a new drop of coffee maker that helps you get more taste of your beans and to avoid one of the most common pitfalls when making filter coffee: spilling water.
Even the Best drop of coffee makers Tend to have an integrated water tank, so you must fill it using the carafe (risk spilling) and you cannot easily see how clean it is, whether it should be disconnected or how much water is in it.
That is not the case with the new Breville Luxe Brewer, who has a 12-head of water tank with integrated filter that simply cancel the base and has an extra wide top for simple filling.
As the Colleague Aiden Precision Coffee Maker I recently rated, the Breville Luxe Brewer can brew as simple or technical as you want. You can start brewing a jar of coffee with a single button pressure, or being technical by adjusting the flowering volume (the amount of hot water that is issued to brew your coffee grounds), flowering time (how long that water can sit on the coffee grounds), brewing temperature and flow speed. After you have found your desired settings, you can save them as in advance for the next time.
Other functions include a programmable timer, so you can wake up first with freshly brewed coffee in the morning, a cold brew that promises to make smooth, full filter coffee in just 30 minutes, and a warm plate to keep your brew warm until six hours.
Hot stuff
The opinions about hot plates vary. Personally, I find them handy and I do not notice that they influence the taste of my drinks too much, but if you do not agree, you will be happy to know that this is not the only way to keep your coffee at the right temperature. Just like its predecessor, the Breville Precision Brewer, the Breville Luxe Brewer is available in two versions: one with a glass carafe and one with an insulated double -walled can to keep your coffee warm for up to four hours.
The machine comes with two filter baskets-one cone-shaped and one flat bottom that is meant to help your coffee in different ways, so that subtly different taste profiles are brought forward.
According to research by the Specialtyty Coffee Association (SCA) and partners, the cone has to make fruity tones, while the basket with flat bottom brings softer chocolate and flower flavors to the front.
The Breville Luxe Brewer is now for sale and costs $ 319.95 (about £ 240 / au $ 500) with a glass carafeor $ 349.95 (about £ 260 / au $ 550) with a thermal pitcher.
The Nieuwe Brouwer is not yet available outside the US, but we will keep you informed of international launch data and prices when they are announced, and hope to give you a complete assessment soon.
