Bride approved my dress for her wedding – people say she ‘bites her tongue’
A SECOND opinion on a wedding guest’s formal attire confirmed her suspicions.
People explained that even if the bride approved of her dress, she could still secretly disapprove of it.
Reddit user TrucEase shared the wedding dress in a post.
“I have a wedding next week and these are the two dresses I’m still deciding between,” she said.
She explained that she had a preference for a white babydoll that she had designed herself, but that she wasn’t sure about it.
“I asked the bride about the first one and she said she ‘didn’t see a problem with it and it was clearly not a wedding dress,’ but I don’t know any of the guests that well,” she said.
“I think I’m more concerned about their opinion.
The guest added that she was afraid of incurring the wrath of her fellow attendees.
“I made this dress and I really want to wear it, but not if someone ‘spills’ red wine on me (does that really happen?),” she said.
She found the second option much less feasible.
“I bought the second dress in a panic as a backup dress. I’m not that fond of it myself,” she said.
“It was supposed to be a tea length, but I’m very petite and it became a maxi length.
“I’m also thinking too much about how light pink it is and whether it won’t be too light.
“And does it look like I divided the food myself with that strange yellow side?
“There is no written dress code for the wedding, but it is a daytime wedding in a garden.
“It has to be a choice between these two, since I don’t have the time or money to buy another dress anymore.”
Despite her preference for the white babydoll style, critics insisted she go for the pink version.
“I would never wear a white babydoll mini dress to a wedding and I would be surprised if a guest did,” one person wrote.
“The first dress looks like something a bride would wear to a bachelorette party or rehearsal dinner,” another agreed.
“I would be shocked if I saw someone wearing something like that to a wedding, and I can’t help but think the bride would bite her tongue.
“The dress is beautiful, but I don’t think it’s suitable for a wedding guest.”
“No one will spill wine on you, but the first dress is not suitable for a wedding,” said a third.
“At first I thought it was a bride asking for a wedding dress.”
