Brides are left in a tizzy when they discover a thrift store has a second floor full of wedding dresses

MANY brides know that finding a wedding dress and matching outfit can be one of the most expensive parts of the wedding.

However, one clever woman decided she would save some money by checking out the lesser-known bridal department of a famous charity shop.

TikTok user @bridalantics visited Oxfam in Kingston, where there is a secret bridal gown department upstairs, and where she told people to “RUN, DON’T WALK” when she made some incredible discoveries.

She said: “I called Oxfam Kingston and made an appointment to go to their secret bridal shop upstairs.

“I had the entire floor to myself for an hour before anyone else joined me.

“I can’t believe how many beautiful affordable dresses I’ve found in such good condition: wedding dressesdresses for wedding guests, dresses for civil ceremonies and all other things that belong to the bridal wardrobe.”

The bride explained how dresses were arranged by style and how prices ranged from around £70 to £250.

She showed the first “beautiful specimen” she had found: a white dress with a corset top.

The woman continued, “I’m thinking of having it altered to just a corset and a silk skirt that I can wear with it.

“Maybe for my welcome party.”

Then she found a £12 veil, which she didn’t end up buying but later regretted as it would have been perfect for her ‘civil ceremony or hen party’.

She also regretted not buying a white halter dress with a pretty floral bow for her honeymoon or bachelorette party.

However, she did find a beautiful white lace dress that she and her partner would wear on holiday after the wedding.

The bride-to-be wrote: “Bought this to wear on our honeymoon which we have yet to plan and don’t even know what continent or when it will be yet haha.”

“No regrets, it was <£60.”

The bride was amazed at what she found

After her trip she concluded that it was a ‘successful trip’.

The bride said, “I brought two wedding dresses” (one for my civil ceremony and one for my second look) + the dress I bought for our honeymoon AND two vintage dresses for wedding guests.

“The total amount was only £220.

“I’ve heard the bridal collection is travelling around the country so check online or call to see if they’re still in London.

“If anyone knows any good tailors in London, please let me know!
“I will definitely go back next one year to search for a veil.”

Many people were very impressed with her finds. One of them said: “Girl, why do they ALL look so good on you!!”

Another added: “I love everything you chose! You look amazing.”
