It is claimed Walsh was posing for the photo when mum intervened. The telephone involved has now disappeared.

News Corp has reported that the complaint focused on the mobile device malfunctioning and the players later paying for a replacement phone.

Walsh has reportedly agreed to a lucrative $5 million contract with a four-year extension, but has not yet signed the deal to remain at Red Hill long-term.

The two Broncos players posted images to Instagram two days earlier, with Walsh raising a glass of red wine and captioning the image: “Just a little silence.”

The players were also brought together at an NBA game in the United States ahead of the 2024 season opener in Las Vegas.

It comes just one day after Queensland State of Origin coach Billy Slater moved for Walsh.

“He’s not perfect and sometimes we expect our young stars to be perfect too early,” Slater said on his Channel 9 podcast.

“But he’s only 22 and you have to take yourself back to 22 and say, ‘How many rough edges did I have?’

“He will develop and grow as a person and player.

“We have to be grateful that guys like Reece want to be part of our game because they bring everything to our game.

It also comes after Walsh was arrested for cocaine possession in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast on September 26, 2021.

Following the arrest, he was charged with possession of a controlled substance and brought to court.

The NRL imposed a two-match ban on him and fined him $5000 as part of his punishment. In addition, Walsh was required to undergo drug and alcohol therapy and complete community service.
