BSF foils infiltration bid by Bangladeshis in Tripura | India News – Times of India
BSF officials said four of them, including a woman, tried to negotiate the border fence, taking advantage of the apparent isolation in the area. All the arrested Bangladeshi nationals are residents of Chattogram Bangladesh.
In another operation based on specific information, a Bangladeshi national was apprehended in Anandpur BOP area of Sonamura in Sephaijala district an hour later after the initial arrest.
He was found in possession of a Bengali coin worth Taka 3600/- and an Indian Rs 3000/-. The arrested Bangladeshi national is a resident of Dhaka, BSF said.
A BSF release said the troops carried out further operations leading to the arrest of two illegal Bangladeshi immigrants at Dharmanagar in North Tripura and recovery of Rs 5,540 from their possession. The arrested Bangladeshi nationals are residents of Dhaka and Cumilla in Bangladesh respectively.
In a separate coordinated joint operation carried out by BSF and agencies, two Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended at Agartala railway station while trying to board a train in the wee hours of Saturday.
