BSP, INLD join Haryana, Abhay Chautala to be CM face | India News – Times of India
CHANDIGARH: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will hold a alliance for the Haryana state assembly elections, scheduled for October this year. INLD general secretary Abhay Chautala would the CM sight.
While the INLD will contest on 53 seats in the 90-seat state assembly, the BSP will contest on 37 seats. Akash Anand, nephew of BSP leader Mayawati, floated Chautala’s name as the CM face of the alliance.
Chautala said that though they had an understanding on seat sharing, INLD would not hesitate to share more seats with its alliance partner considering the winnability of candidates.
Chautala added that the decision on seat distribution between parties will be taken after consultation by both parties.
Chautala said the INLD-BSP alliance has laid the foundation for a third front as his party would appeal to other like-minded organisations to join hands. “We would not hesitate to form an alliance with AAP, if required,” he added.
