In addition to the iPhone 16 and Apple Watch Series 10, two new models of Apple AirPods 4 earbuds are also being launched this week. Pre-orders have already started.
The new AirPods 4 come in two versions. Both models have a new, more open design, USB-C charging and Apple’s H2 chip with Bluetooth 5.3 — the same as in the AirPods Pro 2. The more expensive model adds active noise cancellation.
In his full review of the AirPods 4, CNET’s David Carnoy said that with both AirPods 4 models, “the sound is a little bit cleaner (improved highs) and you get a little bit more bass, so there’s a little bit more depth and fullness.” He also said that the high-end AirPods 4 are the first open earbuds he’s tried with “active noise cancellation that actually works.”

When did AirPods 4 pre-orders start?
You can pre-order AirPods 4 right now via Apple’s online store. Pre-orders began on Monday, September 9thafter Apple’s Glowtime event. Other retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart have also started accepting pre-orders.

How much do the two new AirPods 4 cost?
There are two versions of Apple’s fourth-generation AirPods, each priced differently. Here’s what the US pricing looks like for the new ‘buds:
