Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 debuts full campaign mission on Opening Night Live
Gamescom 2024’s Opening Night Live presentation has kicked off with an extensive look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
The campaign mission, known as Most Wanted, sees operators infiltrate a building to rescue a hostage. Shortly after, a Juggernaut-like enemy bursts in, clad head to toe in heavy armor and brandishing a massive minigun. Just like the ’90s, huh?
The gameplay trailer shows off a lot more than just shooting. The player character releases a remote-controlled drone that explodes, instantly killing the threatening target. From there, we get more infiltration and dialogue beats as the group ascends an elevator shaft. But of course, even that quickly goes awry as the mission spills out into the streets above.
The explosive mission culminates in a pretty mind-blowing chase. As you might expect, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 campaign looks as bombastic as ever from developers Treyarch and Raven Software. Like previous games in the Black operations subseries, the pacing seems really good overall, and I’m looking forward to what will likely be an unpredictable shooter. At least when it comes to locations visited and set piece variety.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. Call of duty Games are notoriously large in file size, but Activision has previously debunked the idea that the game will be over 300GB in total. That said, the publisher has yet to confirm how much space players will need to reserve when the game launches in October.
