Callum Simpson credit late sister for inspiring comeback Ivan Zucco Ko

Callum Simpson called on inspiration from his deceased sister Lily Rae to come from behind and to stop Ivan Zucco to win the European title.

Simpson suffered the devastating news that his 19-year-old sister died tragically last year in a quad bike accident on holiday in Greece.

But the Barnsley -Bokheld – who headed on the Oakwell football field – continues to fight in honor of Lily Rae.

And she would have proudly viewed while her big brother returned to put Zucco in round ten after three knockdowns.

Simpson, awarded the European Super-Middenweight Champion, said: “Not once I gave up, the last few rounds I will be honest that I started thinking of my little sister Lily.

“I will be honest, I just thought I had to push for her and for everyone.

“This time last year, Lily was cheering here and she was there tonight when it became difficult when it became difficult.

“From round eight I thought:” I have to dig deep, I have to keep pushing, I have to do it for her. She was with me tonight. ”

Simpson filled Barnsley’s 23,000 seats – but he went to a horror art after he was thrown through the second punch alone.

This time there was no return for Zucco – when Simpson turned the fight upside down with a comeback victory for the centuries.
