Calum McClurkin: Flower has the lasting power, but can the favorite of oak be vulnerable to non -exposed improvements?

The classic generation of the mares looks a lot weaker than the Colts.

This can be summarized by the fact that there are currently only 12 in the oak in Epsom in two weeks.

Desert Flower won the 1,000 Guineas and remains unbeaten. Rated 117, puts them a clear standard for the others.

Trained by Charlie Appleby in the Godolphin Blue, the chance of 9-4 does look very honest indeed. She was a short prize at Newmarket when it became the obvious main rival on Form Lake Victoria, the run needed badly.

Ollie Sangster’s flight became second and gave the favorite a shock. She challenged the wrong part of the track and was perhaps a shadow that was not closer not to be closer than the length of the defeat.

The rest almost ended in a pile in the back, but was only two and a half length behind Desert Flower.

This was not nearly impressive as last year’s Mile break when she was clear as a juvenile.

Desert Flower did well enough from the front, but there is a hint that others catch up with her when they improve with age and experience.

The most important positive thing about the desert flower in Newmarket was the way she formed for an oak. Going on a journey looks no problem at all, maybe 10 Furlongs would be more suitable than 12, but it looks in her compass.

There is endurance in her pedigree and you need tactical speed around Epsom anyway, so there is no worries to make you over that front. It is more a stranger than a cast -iron negative.

Jockey William Buick said after the victory of Guineas: ‘She is very uncomplicated and all class. I think she could be an oak mare. I think that’s what everyone thought in advance. ‘

There is every chance that the boys in Blue believe that the Oaks is a more suitable assignment than the Guineas and that can help her with a different classic success.

However, could she be vulnerable to an important improver? Given the fourth and fifth of the Guineas within two and a half lengths at the head office, despite the fact that there had only been one run in advance in their lives, there must be a clear possibility that another non-undisputed type sets a more serious issue of desert flower.

Aidan O’Brien is always the most important challenger. Just like the Derby tests, he also plundered most Oaks tests.

Minnie Hauk is the second favorite for the Oaks after winning in Chester, but has to find more

Minnie Hauk is the second favorite for the Oaks after winning in Chester, but has to find more

Minnie Hauk is the second favorite and has come for a lot of support. Winner of the Cheshire Oaks, she looks destined to stay. However, the bare form must be improved, given its assessment of 100.

Giselle was very fresh on the re-release when switching off a three-runner Lingfield Oaks, but there is a lot of potential when you learn to settle. Epsom certainly looks and is another that brings a lot of potential to the party.

None of the O’Brien pair can be excluded, with Musidora Stakes winner Wervelwinner instead looks for the French oak.

The Ballydoyle team will be happy to make this a decent test during the trip to Giselle and Minnie Hauk and make the endurance of the favorite, so don’t be surprised if O’Brien Leave outsiders on January and/or island of Hop as a Pacemaker.

A trip to France could be ahead of the exciting Owen Burrows-Train Falakeyah. She won on Gineas Day in Pretty Polly Stakes and that form has been stimulated since then. She would be interesting if she would stay in England instead.

Elwatene was one of the many that was not far defeated by Desert Flower in the Guineas despite a lack of experience at the top level and she would enter the comparison if she was supplemented with owners Shadwell.

Revoir went well in a newbury process for Ralph Beckett and cannot be completely rejected.

Desert Flower probably has the lasting power and may have too much control over to win another classic in a similar way as her Guineas success. The price is also fair. But when you start scratching the surface, it might not be as easy as that.

Giselle did not have much to beat in the Linfield Oaks test, but she has a lot of potential

There are others with a lot of potential who can end her unbeaten record.

Other days for shes perfect, because French stewards reject attraction

It was worth the attraction to perfect connections from shes. The Charlie Fellowes-Train Merrieveeulen was for the first time beyond the post in the French 1,000 Guineas, but lost the race in the stewards Room when she caused a furlong of the line of the line.

The race was awarded to favorite Blessa and the frontal looked pretty damn, with shes perfect, under Jocky Kieran Shoemark, who drifted a clear line when she was left from the left.

The rules are clear and the places were rightly reversed, regardless of whether they had a case in the doubtful driving style of Mickael Barzalona who hit his horse with his hands when he dropped his whip.

There has been some nonsense on social media that think about the motive of the decision. A case of the large established French garden will get the decision about a small English? Sorry, but no. It is clearly ridiculous for accusation of bias. The kind of stuff that a miserable football fan comes with when raging about referees.

The French stewards have correctly applied the rules in a large race. It should happen more often in Britain and for Basher Watts Syndicate, Fellowes and Shoemark will be other days.

There is always another chance in racing and it can happen in the coronation deployment at Royal Ascot where the Rematch could easily happen. They have a brilliant mandriffen in their hands for the future.

Performance of the week … Honorable mention to Jockey William Buick who won four of the five televis races on ITV in Haydock, but yesterday it was all about the sparkle of Gold field In the 2,000 Guineas.

He was stylish at the speed under the new Jockey Colin Keane and the galloping nature of the Curreth really matched the Colt of John and Thady Gosden. It was redemption for his unfortunate defeat when second place in the 2,000 Guineas in Newmarket. He was just in a different competition than the rest of the field and the world is his oyster for the rest of the season.

Selections of the day …

A few Group One Curragh crackers can go the way of the formidable duo of Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore. Los Angeles (5-2, Bet365) is two by two at De Curragh and can beat old rival white birches and a strong British challenge to win the Tattersalls Gold Cup (3.05).

Lake Victoria (Evens, Paddy Power) Was sixth in the 1,000 Guineas, but she needed the run poorly and O’Brien always racet against the clock to make that newmarket assignment. She should be a lot sharper today and can countries Irish equivalent (3.40).
