The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival Starts Tuesday and this line-up is special with stars packed. Which titles could follow on the path of last year’s big pimples such as “Anora” and “The Substance”? Here are the stories that we have noticed this year.

Although Cannes is traditionally known for presenting the best in worldwide cinema, the line-up is full of so many controversial English-language films that it could be seen for a festival in Hollywood.

The biggest premieres are ‘Die My Love’, who combines Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson as a few in a crumbling marriage; The new Spike Lee film, ‘Highest 2 lowest“With Denzel Washington; and Wes Anderson’s Caper”The Phoenician schedule‘With Benicio del Toro who leads an ensemble that Michael Cera, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hanks and Riz Ahmed comprises.

There is also the romantic drama ‘The History of Sound’, with Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor; ‘Nouvelle Vague’ by Richard Linklater, a tribute to the French new Golf; and “Eddington” by Ari Aster (“Midsommar”, “Hereditary”), with an A-list cast with Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone and Austin Butler. And if that was not Hollywood-heavy enough, Tom Cruise will make his debut Eind “Mission: Impossible” movie On the second day of the festival.

Kristen Stewart, Scarlett Johansson and Harris Dickinson are all Cannes -support pillars, but for this year’s feast the three actors instead step behind the camera for their position that debuts debut. And that you assume that they make vanity projects, all three refuse the leading role in their own films.

Stewart’s long in the work ‘The Chronology of Water’ will first bend, with in the lead role in Ingeyen Poots as a young woman struggling with issues of addiction and sexuality. The next is “Urchin”, from the breakout Dickinson “Babygirl”, about a London Drifter (Frank Dillane) who has difficulty finding his place in society. And the second week of the festival debuts Johansson’s ‘Eleanor the Great’, a comedy with June Squibb.

The last two editions of Cannes each produced three best picture nominees, and last year’s winner, “Anora”, even went up the top Oscar.

With “sinners” already locked and loaded for Oscar consideration, is it possible that we know almost half of the likely best photo nominees by the end of this month? At the very least, the winner of the prestigious Palme d’On should have a clear path to consider. Speaking of that …

No studio has a more impressive track record in Cannes than Neon, which wins an amazing five consecutive Palme d’Or. The streak started with “Parasite”, followed by “Titane”, “Triangle of Sadness”, “Anatomy of a Fall” and “Anora.” Can Neon make it six in a row now?

The best gambling this year seems to be “sentimental value” by Joachim Trier, who reunits with his “worst person in the world” star Renate Reinsve for a family drama about the thorny relationship of a woman with her alienated filmmaker (Stellan Skarsgard). Reinsve won the best actress prize in Cannes for her latest collaboration with Trier, so that only contributes to expectations for the new film.

Neon also has ‘Alpha’, the last of Julia Ducourneau. Her Gonzo film “Titane” was the only recent Palme winner who did not find a favor with Oscar voters, but after the bloody antics of “The Substance” enthusiastic the Academy, anything is possible. If her new film wakes up a jury of Cannes Die Jeremy Strong, Halle Berry and the President of the Panel, Juliette Binoche, a continuous palmstreak can be possible.
