Cash App Customers Eligible for $2,500 Settlement How to File a Claim
If you’ve used the digital payments app Cash App to transfer money to a family member, friend or business in the past six years, you may be eligible to file a claim as part of a proposed $15 million settlement in a lawsuit alleging that Cash App and its parent company Block failed to take proper measures to prevent unauthorized access to user accounts.
In the lawsuit, plaintiffs allege that Block and Cash App were negligent when a former Cash App Investing employee accessed account information without authorization in 2022 and when an unauthorized user accessed certain Cash App accounts in 2023 using reused phone numbers associated with the accounts.
If you’ve used Cash App in the past six years and your personal information or account was accessed without your permission, or you experienced an unauthorized transfer of funds, you may be eligible to claim up to $2,500. Here’s what you need to know about the settlement. For more, read these upcoming Android features to help keep your phone safe.
