Casio G-Shock GBD-300 smartwatch with shockproof function unveiled

Casio G-Shock GBD-300, featuring a shockproof design, has been unveiled. The smartwatch comes with a water resistance of 20 bars, which means it can be used during activities like swimming and other high-impact water sports. It supports Bluetooth connectivity and is compatible with the G-Shock Move companion app. The company is yet to reveal the price of the watch but has confirmed its design, specifications and features. It is currently unclear if the G-Shock GBD-300 will be launched in India.

Casio G-Shock GBD-300 design

The recently unveiled Casio G-Shock GBD-300 features a sleek octagonal body and a urethane strap. The rear bumper edge has a bowl-shaped curvature that surrounds the case, helping with shock resistance and reducing contact with the back of the hand.

The underside of the band connects to the bezel, which is said to support flexible wrist movements. The parts of the band that come into contact with the skin have a dotted texture that prevents them from slipping or sticking due to sweat, the company says.

The Casio G-Shock GBD-300 has a water resistance of 20 bars and supports Bluetooth connectivity. It is compatible with the G-Shock Move app, which helps track a user’s activity. The data that the smartwatch can process includes time, distance and speed traveled, as well as calories burned, daily step count and monthly running distance.

The company says the Casio G-Shock GBD-300 supports 38 time zones. It comes equipped with a stopwatch, countdown timer and alarm functions. The watch can support up to four daily alarms with a snooze function. It also includes support for an ‘airplane’ mode.

The G-Shock GBD-300 is said to offer up to two years of battery life on a CR2032 battery. It also comes with Casio’s proprietary Tough Solar technology, which is said to convert light into energy, using a range of sources from sunlight to fluorescent lights. The watch’s body measures 48.9 x 47.4 x 14.9mm and weighs around 60g, including the straps.
