Casting agent advertises actor to play Prince Harry in next Netflix series of The Crown

A casting agent has called an actor at the last minute to play Prince Harry in the next Netflix series of The Crown.

The vacancy, which expires on October 14, is looking for someone with a strong physical resemblance to the Duke of Sussex, but no professional acting experience is necessary.

The search is for an actor between the ages of 16-20 and applicants are asked to email a short video of themselves about something they love as part of the process.

Shooting for series six of the hit drama begins next month.

The job description reads: ‘Robert Sterne, Casting Director of the Netflix series THE CROWN, is looking for an exceptional young actor to play PRINCE HARRY in the next series.

The casting call for William and Harry said the roles in the drama are “important,” indicating there may be storylines affecting the lives of the young princes in the late 1990s and early 1990s.

The casting call indicates that the series will last at least until 2005, probably around 1998 – just a year after Princess Diana’s death.

“It’s a significant part in this award-winning drama and we’re looking for a strong physical resemblance.

Shooting will begin in the UK in November 2022.

No previous professional acting experience required. We have a lot of experience in providing great support to the young actors and their families through what they believe to be a uniquely rewarding creative process.”

The casting call asks applicants for their name, age, date of birth, a selfie, where they heard about the job, where they are based, as well as parent or guardian consent for under 18s.

Earlier this month, it was announced that The Crown has cast actress Meg Bellamy in the role of Kate Middleton for the upcoming series.

The Netflix show initially put out a casting call in April to find a “gorgeous actress” to play the role of a young Kate, and after five months of waiting, they finally found their duchess.

Meg, the principal of St Crispin’s School where she studied drama, stars alongside Ed McVey, who has been cast as her husband Prince William.

Ed and Meg play the couple during the period when their romance blossomed while studying at St Andrews University.

The role of the future Queen Consort is Meg’s first major acting role and comes just months after she left high school in Wokingham.

An excited Meg took to Instagram after the news was revealed, writing: ‘Pinch me please…I’m so excited to announce that I will be playing Kate Middleton in Series 6 of Netflix’ ‘The Crown’. It’s such an honor to be part of the most incredible cast and crew, and I will strive to do Kate justice.”

In addition to Ed, Rufus Kampa (16) will also play the prince at a different stage in his life, showing his teenage years how he and the royal family dealt with the death of Princess Diana.

After his role was made public, Ed wrote on Instagram: “Ahhh the big news is out now!!! I’m thrilled to have the chance to play Prince William in #TheCrown in Series 6!!! Besides the awesome @megkbellamy. Gunna be an amazing shoot can’t wait to learn everything I can! Full press release in bio.’

Rufus made his professional acting debut in Sue Townsend’s The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole 13 & 3/4s: The Musical, while also starring in a handful of West End productions.

The show previously issued a casting call looking for “exceptional young actors” to play Prince William and Prince Harry.

The period will likely involve William attending St Andrew’s University in Scotland, where he met Kate, as well as Prince Charles’ marriage to Camilla Parker-Bowles and the aftermath of Princess Diana’s death.

The dates also include the Queen’s Golden Jubilee celebrations and the Royal Family’s response to world events, including the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Other significant events of the period include Edward’s wedding to Sophie Wessex in 1999 and the deaths of Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother in 2002.
