Cathay Pacific unveils brand new business and economy cabins for its Boeing 777 fleet – with the airline promising to ‘take flying to the next level’

Cathay Pacific has unveiled an all-new business class, a new premium economy and a ‘refreshed’ economy cabin for its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Cathay said “the customer experience is central to the design and conception” of the new business class seat, called the Aria Suite.

It is arranged in an inverted herringbone configuration, with the side seats angled towards the windows, and features a “range of innovations and improvements to take the business class experience to the next level.”

The addition of a suite door will undoubtedly please those passengers who value privacy at 10,000 feet, with those in the middle seats having the option to deploy a movable partition for ‘a higher level of privacy’, or leave it open stand ‘for a shared room’. business class experience with their travel partner’.

It says customers can pair Bluetooth headphones to the screen and charge their devices on the “marble side console.”

What about storage?

Cathay says: ‘The console has a slide-out drawer, creating a compartment that’s perfect for that [a passenger’s] passport, glasses, watch and wallet.

“The side cabinet, which sits on the upper console, includes a custom headphone hook, a special tray for storing water bottles and a large personal mirror in the door.”

Maneuvering the seat is done thanks to the new ‘Touch Screen Passenger Control Unit’.

Cathay says it can ‘control the settings of the signature Cathay lamp and the three built-in directional light modes, ‘meal, reading and console’, and ‘select various preset seating positions – including taxi, take-off’. and landing, lounge and bed – with a single touch’.

Adjustments can also be made digitally – for the first time – using the interactive seat controls on the in-seat entertainment screen, Cathay notes.

The suite promises to be a feast for the eyes, but also pleasant to the touch.

Cathay says: ‘The soft-touch suede walls, natural wool seat fabric and gold-accented touch points all come together to create a calming sensory experience.

‘The main body of the chair is made of wool, designed for comfort and breathability, with an all-in-one design to ensure a seamless bed surface.

‘The headrest is soft and made of premium leather, as is the ottoman that extends the length of the bed.

‘It all comes together to ensure customers can enjoy a truly soothing experience, surrounded by comfort.’

PREMIUM ECONOMY

The new premium economy cabin features “custom leather headrests and padded footrests,” seat wings with reading lights and 15.6-inch 4K screens with Bluetooth audio streaming.

ECONOMY

The economy cabin “retains the features and improvements” of Cathay’s A350s, but has been “refreshed with a number of new features to enhance the customer experience.”

Cathay continues: ‘These include updated garment covers, improved front row ergonomics and additional overhead space.

“The onboard entertainment system has been enhanced with the latest graphical user interface and customers can enjoy Cathay Pacific’s extensive entertainment library using their own Bluetooth headsets.”

In addition, an ‘innovative’ headrest offers an ‘unprecedented degree of flexibility to support and support the customer’s head’.
