Cats took over my garden and pooped everywhere – 99p hack banned
A WOMAN has revealed a 99p trick that can stop cats from pooping in your garden.
Whether you like them or not, our feline friends can be a real nuisance, getting into gardens and leaving their feces everywhere.
Cat feces contain harmful bacteria that can be harmful to plants.
On TikTok, DIY fan Becky revealed her tried-and-true method for keeping cats away.
She said: “This is my top tip if, like us, you are bothered by cats in the neighbourhood trying to use your nice planters or pots as a litter box.
“Coffee grounds!”
Becky explained that all you need to do is take some coffee grounds, grind them up into pieces and spread them over the soil.
“Apparently the cats don’t like the smell,” she said.
Cats have a much better sense of smell than humans, meaning they can smell any scent more strongly.
Although coffee smells delicious to humans, it stinks terribly to cats.
Becky continued: “Since we started doing this we haven’t had any problems [with cats].
“It would also be very good for your plants.”
“It’s a gift from heaven for us. No more cat poop.”
Coffee grounds contain nutrients that plants need to grow, such as nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus.
Becky added that she has a cat herself and decided this method would be the best to use “without injury.”
