The Amazon Kindle is one of the best ways to carry your entire reading list around, but the Kindle Scribe goes one better: It lets you take notes and jot them down on its e-ink screen. And this Prime Day, you can get the Kindle Scribe for a new all-time low of just $235 saves you 31% off the usual price of $339. Take note of the deal and act fast because this limited time offer won’t last long.
This story is part of Amazon Prime DayCNET’s guide to everything you need to know and how to find the best deals.
In his testing, CNET’s David Carnoy found that the Kindle Scribe “strikes a very good balance between a large-format e-reader and an E Ink note-taking tablet.” It has a 300-pixel-per-inch, front-lit, 10.2-inch E Ink touchscreen with an adjustable warm light, and can last for weeks on a single charge. It’s the largest Kindle ever, but it still weighs just under a pound. While that certainly makes it portable, you’ll probably want to invest in a case that can double as a stand — which you’ll have to do buy separately.

Depending on the model you get, your Scribe will come with either a standard or premium stylus. Both styluses magnetically stick to the side of your Scribe and don’t require power or Bluetooth connectivity, so you’ll never have to charge it. The more expensive pen essentially works like a regular pencil — it even has a built-in eraser — and has a programmable button. You can use the stylus to mark up PDFs, and it’s easy to send those documents to the device itself. Keep in mind, however, that you won’t be able to mark up Kindle eBooks or DRM-free ePub eBooks. You’ll essentially be writing on “sticky notes” on anything other than a PDF.
If you want the lowest price for this device, you should choose the model with the Base penwhich is available for $235 (save $105) and comes with 16GB of storage. The Premium pen option is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB configurations
