Centre forms Ashvini, JV of nuclear and thermal power plants | India News – Times of India
MUMBAI: A major step towards boosting nuclear energy energy generation in the country the government has given the green light for the establishment of a new company — Ashvini – A joint venture between Nuclear Power Company of India Limited (NPCIL) and National Thermal Energy Company (NTPC code).
According to NPCIL, the stake in the new organization will be 51%, while NTPC will have 49%. With this, Ashvini is now authorized to build, own and operate nuclear energy plants in India.
According to NPCIL, this will pave the way for pooling of financial resources and expertise for the rapid expansion of nuclear energy.
