Centre forms committee to examine candidature of IAS Puja Khedkar | India News – Times of India
NEW DELHI: The Centre on Thursday constituted a one-member committee to verify “the candidature claims and other details” of probationary IAS officer Puja Khedkar, who is accused of misusing disability and OBC quota to secure a position in the service.
An additional secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) will chair the panel that will look into the matter and submit a report within two weeks.
“The Central Government has constituted a one-member committee, chaired by a senior official of the rank of Additional Secretary to Government of India, to verify the candidature claims and other details of Ms. Puja Manorma Dilip Khedkar, a candidate for Civil Services Examination-2022 and previous CSEs. The committee will submit its report in 2 weeks,” the Personnel Ministry said in a statement.
The 34-year-old probationary civil servant, a candidate for the 2022 Civil Services Examination (CSE) and previous CSEs, is accused of misusing benefits under the physically challenged category and the Other Backward Classes (OBC) quota to secure a job in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
On Monday, she was transferred from Pune to Washim amid allegations of bullying and arrogant behaviour.
Khedkar was appointed as assistant collector of Washim district collectorate in Vidarbha region on Thursday.
