Chandigarh: Police offer Rs 2 lakh reward for information on suspects in Sector 10 blast case | India News – Times of India
CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh police have offered a reward of Rs 200,000 for anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of the other two suspects involved in the blast in Sector 10.
A small suspected pressure explosion took place at a house in Chandigarh’s Sector 10 on Wednesday evening, damaging windows and flower pots in a residential area, police said.
“Chandigarh Police announces a reward of Rs 2 lakhs for providing information leading to the arrest of the other two suspects involved in the Sector 10 blast case. In the case of the said two suspects, information can be passed on through police control room no. 0172-2749194 or 112 and WhatsApp no. 9465121000,” the police said in a statement.
In the meantime, Sub-inspector Lakhwinder Singh said the investigation is still underway and a team from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory will also reach the scene today as the investigation could not be completed yesterday due to darkness. Singh added that security has been deployed to protect the evidence.
“The CSFL teams will come. The investigation could not be completed yesterday as it was dark at night… A three-wheeler has been recovered but the suspects are yet to be arrested… Investigation is on. Teams have been sent everywhere… Security has been deployed to protect the evidence… The family is fine. They have no problems with anyone. They live in Australia,” said Sub-Inspector Singh. Asked if the suspicious explosion was related to the fact that the constable’s family previously lived in the house in question, he said: “Investigation will be carried out at that point.”
Earlier on Wednesday, police and forensic teams reached the scene of the incident to collect evidence. One person has been arrested in connection with the explosion, they said. “A small pressure explosion occurred here, damaging windows and some flower pots. The CFSL team has arrived and all evidence is being collected. The investigation is ongoing,” the SSP said.
The SSP also said that the complainant reported seeing two persons near the residence, who allegedly threw a grenade-like object at the location. “The complainant has said that two suspicious persons came in a car and threw a grenade-like object. The complainant has seen them. Teams are searching for them. There has been an explosion, we are investigating the cause of the explosion,” she added.
