Chelsea have taken out their no 10 -shirt Mykhailo Mudryk In the midst of his suspension from football after his failed drug test.

Chelsea confirmed the switch in a statement that did not even mention Mudryk on Thursday morning.

‘Palmer, who has worn the No.20 shirt since signing Manchester City In September 2023, the switch will make for our participation in the tournament established in the US and can wear 10 for the first time when the blues face Los Angeles FC in Atlanta on June 16.

Mudryk who loses his shirt to Palmer is the newest update about the Ukrainian winger who has held a relatively low profile since his failed test.

After the news about his positive test had been public and he received a suspension in December, Mudryk released a statement in which he insisted that he “had done nothing wrong.”

Mudryk wrote on Instagram: ‘I can confirm that I received a notification that a sample that I provided to the FA contained a forbidden substance. This has come a complete shock because I have never knowingly used or have used forbidden substances or have violated rules, and worked closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened.

‘I know I have done nothing wrong and hope that I will be back on the field soon. I can no longer say because of the confidentiality of the process, but I will be as soon as possible. ‘

Only a few days later Mudryk was seen on the ring to see how his countryman Oleksandr Usyk’s Rematch against Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia.
