10 months after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, the parents of the soldiers of the 77th Battalion decided to release the full footage to the Israeli news channel.
Oz’s father, Amir Daniel, said he recognized his son in the video, despite the blurry images.
“You can’t misunderstand your own child.”
The families of the soldiers decided to share the images to draw attention to the hostages.

The soldiers had already received warnings about the Hamas invasion and were ready to operate. The tank manned by Nimrod, Omer, Daniel and Dahan was reportedly hit by a rocket-propelled grenade, resulting in the four men having to abandon the tanks to avoid suffocation.
Nimrod’s father, Yehuda Cohen, told N12 that “the crew could not operate effectively during the attack because the equipment provided by the military did not function properly.”
He also urged the Israeli government to agree to a ceasefire.
This comes ten months after the war that broke out following Hamas’ October attack on southern Israel, which, according to Israeli figures, resulted in the deaths of 1,197 people, mostly civilians.
The militants also captured 251 hostages, 116 of whom are still in Gaza. According to the Israeli military, 44 are dead.
More than 39,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in Israel’s military retaliation in Gaza, according to data from the Health Ministry in Hamas-ruled Gaza.
