Kelly told The guardian: “As soon as I got a foot in this club, I found luck.

“Renee -Slagers, as soon as she came to the phone to me, to give me the chance to represent this badge, I wanted to pay her back.

“Being in such a dark place to now, it’s crazy.

“I was ready to take a break from football. I am just grateful.”

Kelly still doesn’t know for sure if her move back to Arsenal will be permanent.

She added: “If it’s my last game for the club, I will be grateful forever.

“I know I have given everything to Arsenal and Arsenal has given me completely to me.

“They gave me the chance to get on the field and find happiness.

“Sometimes it’s not about football. Whatever happened today, the club gave me lucky.”
