A World Cup Club Star has been denied access to the United States – the road made for a former Manchester United Star to adorn the big stage.
Boca Juniors Defender Ayrton Costa will miss the tournament after his visa application had been rejected twice for reasons the club did not announce.
Costa, 25, was mentioned in 2018 in an attempted theft in Argentina, but received probation in 2023 to prevent a process, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The case was reportedly classified as ‘worsened theft in a populated area and as a group’ and the record remains active and has an influence on its visa applications.
He was also mentioned in judicial documents as an accessory for one domestic violence Murder for which his brother is a suspect, according to MarcaBut was never charged.
Costa suffered a similar ban in 2023, while he was a player for Independent, although that was not for the World Cup Club.

His absence means that former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo, 35, is expected to get the nod in the defense of Boca.
The role of Rojo refused last season to that of a bit party player, but he still managed to play 13 games.
The Argentinian spent seven years at Manchester United between 2014 and 2018.
Now he has the chance to be a hero for Boca after a difficult period of conflict with club heads.
The Center-Back was said to be ‘heated’ when he complained about the club that did not offer him a new deal during a BBQ team with his teammates, including ex-sizing striker Edinson Cavani, according to Ole.
The word of his frustration was leaked to club president Juan Riquelme, who was reportedly furious with the defender’s actions.
Rojo was exhibited for the Torneo Apertura Play-off quarterfinals defeat by Independent earlier, the largest game of the club of the season, in May.
Ole reported that Rojo will probably not appear again before Boca.
But the loss of Costa can be Rojo’s profit. Manager Miguel Angel Russo has to deal with the late blow after he has already submitted Costa as part of his 35-man team list to FIFA.
Rojo joined Boca after leaving Man United after seven years at Old Trafford after a relocation of £ 16 million from Sporting Lisbon. He had spent his last season on loan in Estudiantes in the club.
He won the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League at United, although he was injured during the run to the final of the last in Stockholm in May 2017.
Boca only recorded the club World Cup earlier and reached the final against AC Milan in 2007 but lost 4-2. They also had to participate in 2001, but that edition was canceled.
Returning to the renewed tournament, they will be confronted with Benfica, Bayern Munich and Auckland City in the group stage.
