Cobra Kai season 6 trailer
The first official trailer for Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 1 was released on July 1, as Netflix teases Cobra Kai Season 6’s final showdown. The trailer reveals that the next installment will pick up right where Season 5 left off – with the Cobra Kai dojo eliminated from the Valley. With the rivalry between Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang settled, many senseis and students must adapt to a new way and location of training for the Sekai Taikai championships. The return of John Kreese is also announced after faking his own death, escaping from prison, and now, it seems, seeking revenge. Additionally, a buried box of Miyagi secrets has been revealed by Daniel, Chozen, and Amanda, prompting Chozen to say, “if we open up, anything is possible.”

Cobra Kai season 6 plot synopsis and speculation
Below are major spoilers for Cobra Kai up to and including season five.
Here’s the official, albeit short, plot summary for Cobra Kai season 6, courtesy of Netflix: “With Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley, our senseis and students must decide if and how to compete in the Sekai Taikai, the world karate championships.”
So there’s not much to go on, but there are a few storylines that need to be resolved before the cast and crew hang up their karate gear for the last time.
After a bombshell finale, Season 5 established Terry Silver as the resident villain for everyone in the community. With two simultaneous karate fights taking place (between rival kids at the Cobra Kai dojo and the adults who ambushed Silver and his goons at their home), it was a miracle no one was killed. And after Daniel’s kids showed video footage of Silver bribing the judges to win the All-Valley competition, a showdown between Silver and Daniel ensued, with Daniel emerging victorious and the police arresting Silver and taking him to jail.
Meanwhile, John Kreese will pose a new threat to our heroes in Season 6. In the season 5 finale, it appeared that he was killed in a fight while in prison. However, the final scene revealed that Kreese had faked his own death. He had indeed used melted Jell-O as fake blood before somehow escaping captivity.
So we can expect a reckoning in Season 6 between Kreese and perhaps Johnny and Danny, who lied to Kreese about hiring a lawyer to get him out of prison. Will his time in prison have taught Kreese anything, or is he looking to the duo for revenge? We suspect the latter, especially since he’s been seen in official images for the show’s sixth season wearing black (the color of villains, you know?) robes.
The Silver fallout will likely continue to have an impact on the children he coached. In an interview with Digital spyDallas Dupree Young – who plays Kenny – said: “Kenny is heartbroken. I mean, it was honestly a heartbreaking moment because his father figure [Silver] is his leader, the guy he looked up to, his mentor, has betrayed him in a way… So I think Kenny is in a tough state of mind. He doesn’t really know where he wants to go right now. But I can’t wait to see what happens to him.”
More action will also take place around the Sekai Taikai championships. We know this will be the case because of what the story synopsis reveals, but previously Jacob Bertrand – who plays Hawk – also said Pop culture: “I really want to go to the world tournament. I think the world tournament would be super interesting, because right now it’s limited to The Valley of Karate, you know? But I think it would be really cool to introduce some crazy new players from all over the world. Yeah, and I’m sure Hawk can win at least a few fights.”

Meanwhile, we know that Johnny’s wife Carmen is pregnant with their long-awaited child, so the drama could play into that as well.
Alicia Hannah-Kim, who plays Kim Da-Eun, also indicated that her character is far from finished and thinks there is more to come for the female sensei. Before her return was announced, she said Deadline: “Hopefully we continue what we started in season 5 Cobra Kai… I think they opened a Pandora’s box with Kim Da-Eun and Master Kim Sun-Young. It really brought a darker element to this season and I’m curious what could happen next that Cobra Kai is seemingly defeated. I know Kim is determined to dominate the world for her family’s legacy, so there is still a lot to discover.”
What else is in store, said William Zabka, who plays Johnny, (via X/Twitter): “It’s been an amazing long journey, but it’s not over yet. Season six was supposed to be the biggest, most badass, most awesome season of Cobra Kai not yet”. Big claims, indeed.
Meanwhile, now that the warring kids have called a truce, it looks like they’re all joining forces and setting up a new dojo for themselves, but the question is what to call it. In the same X/Twitter video that Zakba was in, Gianni DeCenzo (who plays Demetri) read from the script: “Victory dojos are immortalized, and for individual competitors, the sky is the limit. But before we throw our hats in the mat, there’s one thing we must do: decide on our dojo name.” We’re curious.
Will Cobra Kai Season 6 Mark the End of the Hit Series?
Yes when Cobra Kai When Season 6 was announced, it was unfortunately revealed that it would be the series finale.
However, it hasn’t gotten completely out of hand. In a statement (via X/Twitter) which confirmed that the main series would end with season 6, the creators hinted at possible spin-offs in the future, writing: “This fandom is the best on the planet and we hope to tell more Karate child stories with you. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies.” So stay tuned for any potential spin-offs coming your way, guys!
