Cocaine worth Rs 3.3 crore seized in Delhi; 2 Nigerian nationals, taxi driver arrested
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Friday claimed to have busted a syndicate with the arrest of three men, including two foreigners, and seizure of cocaine worth Rs 3.3 crore from their assets. The police seized 563 grams of cocaine from the possession of the two arrested persons Nigerian nationalsofficials said.
The two Nigerian nationals were arrested along with a taxi driver on September 27.
“Based on a tip, Nigerian Joshua Amarachukwa (30) was arrested. His driver or associate, identified as Vinit (24), was also arrested,” a senior police officer said.
According to police, cocaine weighing 257 grams was seized from Amarachukwa.
During interrogation, Amarachukwa revealed that another Nigerian, Mike, supplied him with the drug and that he was selling cocaine in Delhi-NCR.
Police said Vinit accompanied Amarachukwa in every deal and helped him by offering transportation in his taxi.
“On the insistence of Joshua, another suspect, Kone N Golo Seydou alias Mike (27), was arrested from Sohna in Haryana and cocaine weighing 306 grams was seized,” the officer said, adding that further investigation is going on.
Police said the seized cocaine is worth Rs 3.3 crore in the international market.
