Coffee lovers are raving about the pumpkin spice latte recipe that takes just a minute to make
FALL is finally here, and the shorter days and browning leaves mean one thing: it’s Pumpkin Spice Latte season.
The iconic drink returned to Starbucks a month earlier this year, meaning coffee lovers can enjoy the seasonal drink for much longer than usual.
However, with Brits left shocked after Costa ‘abruptly’ closed one of its stores for good this month, many of us may be thinking about making our favorite drinks at home instead.
With that in mind, TikToker Chi revealed her homemade pumpkin spice latte recipe, which takes less than a minute to make.
Recipe for Pumpkin Spice Latte
To make the coffee, Chi revealed that you’ll need:
- Two tablespoons of pumpkin puree
- A tablespoon of maple syrup
- A teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- A quarter teaspoon of nutmeg
- A quarter teaspoon of ginger
- One-eighth of a teaspoon of cloves
- 200 ml milk
- One double shot of espresso
“Making a pumpkin spice latte with real pumpkin is easy,” she said.
To demonstrate her method, Chi mixed all the spices together to make the “pumpkin spice” and added it to a large mug alongside the pumpkin puree.
She then heated the milk and poured it over the mixture.
“Add some maple syrup if you like it sweet,” she said.
Using a frother, Chi then mixed all the ingredients together and added the double shot of espresso.
“If you want, add some whipped cream,” Chi suggested.
To top off the coffee, Chi poured some more of the mixed spices over the cream, and voila, a pumpkin spiced latte made in less than a minute.
Chis (@chi.homecafe) video, has probably left a lot of people impressed as the video has been viewed over 200,000 times on the video sharing platform.

Why is everyone obsessed with pumpkin spice?
Pumpkin spice has become a cultural phenomenon, a staple taste and smell as fall begins.
No surprise, it is native to America and refers to the pumpkin spice mix used to flavor Thanksgiving pumpkin pie.
Matt Johnson, PhD, explained the psychology behind our pumpkin spice obsession. He said, “With each passing fall season, pumpkin spice becomes more and more iconic.
‘The taste and smell [have] become inextricably linked with memories of autumn, Christmas holidays and traditions, creating an emotional bond that brands capitalize on.”
The professor explained how the common flavor or pumpkin spice is “rooted in the seasonal foods we typically enjoy in the fall,” and has become so iconic that it returns bigger and better every year.
Not only does it influence food and drink, but fall interior design has exploded in recent years and households are actively decorating their homes with seasonal displays.
“I agree, so much better than Starbucks,” Chi replied.
A second person said, “Yum, pumpkin spice season is here.”
A third person said: “Looks lovely.”
A fourth added: “This looks so good!
“I have to try.”
