A former assistant sampling director at Emmanuel College in Boston was arrested on Friday and accused of asking a minor applicant for sex, said the Ministry of Justice.
Prosecutors accused the director, Jacob Henriques, 29, with one census of attempted sex trafficking of a minor after he used his position to gain access to the personal information of admitted and potential students, and tried to ask them for sex, according to a News item From the office of the American lawyers for the Massachusetts district.
In a statement, Emmanuel College said that Mr Henriques fired after contact with the law enforcement and starting an investigation. “Emmanuel College is sad, angry and shocked by these serious federal allegations,” said it.
Whether Mr. Henriques had legal representation was not immediately clear.
On April 25, Mr Henriques found the personal information of at least three of the students after a meeting with various, said public prosecutors. He then contacted and offered to ‘pay them for some pleasure’, the authorities added, and in some cases sent pornographic videos or images.
The same day he started contacting a fourth victim after she was committed to visiting the college, according to public prosecutors.
One of the victims, a 17-year-old, toured the college with Mr Henriques on 25 April, said officers of Justice. Mr. Henriques asked her in which class she was, and hours after the tour he started texting the victim on the telephone number on her admission form, said public prosecutors. He continued to contact her that night and refused to tell her his identity or how he had her number, they added.
Mr. Henriques then sent the future student five pornographic videos and asked if she wanted to undertake sexual acts with him, said prosecutors. After her super refusal, Mr. Henriques continued to text her and said, “He would buy her everything she wanted” if she changed his mind, the prosecutors said. The following days he went almost 50 times in her admission profile, according to the Ministry of Justice.
Mr Henriques contacted the student via e -mail after she blocked his number, the prosecutors said.
A Profile of Mr. Henriques That was on the website of the Emmanuel College, said that he graduated in 2021 and was an “avid Boston Sports fan”, and that his favorite thing about college was the small classes, so that students could “make contact with colleagues and faculty”.
